Understanding Hinduism
Hinduism has been classified as the third largest group amongst religions worldwide. As a matter of fact it is not a religion comparable to any other group of its kind. Few people realize that Hinduism is not a religion but rather a way of life! The word religion in English has not got the same connotation as the equivalent word in Sanskrit language – Dharma! The word Dharma clearly means individual or group behavior for righteous action. Such behavior holds people aloft and in it is in this sense it is not a sect nor subject to any authority (like the church), nor does it invoke group worship, conversion of faith that are characteristics of several other religions.
